Some General Housekeeping Regarding the Return to Youtube

So I have indeed returned to Youtube after a very long time away from making videos.  It was a much needed return as I have found the joy in making these videos one more.

So, some major things that I want to get out of the way, in case I forget to mention them in the video (I have a bad habit of not writing things down I want to talk about):

1. Other Games
2. Ads
3. This Blog
4. Reddit
5. Upcoming Projects

1.  OK so the first thing I want to talk about is the possibility of other games on the channel.  I want to try to expand a bit.  I love Minecraft, and will continue to play it and make videos on it, but I am aware that viewers may wish to see other things, and to be honest I would like to commentate on others things as well.  I, for one, am a huge Xbox gamer and would love to record multiplayer matches and single player campaigns and such for your viewing pleasure.  As such, I am looking into some cheap ways to get going on that.

2.  Youtube has given me the ability to Monetize my videos.  Unfortunately, that means I will need to use ads if I want to make a little bit of money.  As such, I am trying to figure out if it is really worth it to have the ads that show up before the videos or not.  Generally they are 5 seconds before you can skip it, and any clicks received will help generate revenue, however I am aware that they are a pain in the ass.  I will leave it to you all to decide.  The main reason I want to add in the ads is because it will allow me to make some extra money doing something I enjoy, and with that money I can upgrade the experience for the you, my viewers.  The money would generally go towards upgrading things for the channel, such as the video editing software and getting things to record game consoles, maybe adding other new things to the tools I have to work with.  This would also be temporary, going only as long as is necessary.  Once the way that money is generated is changed, the ads would be removed to save the annoyance.  I will let you all decide this one.

3.  This blog is here to serve as an outlet for me.  It will allow me to say things I forget to say in videos, provide updates, brainstorm, etc.  This is more of a personal blog as well, so it will be a way for you all to get to know me a little better as a person, if you so desire.

4.  I generally tend to post the video through a reddit link to try to spread my audience.  Obviously this can be  problem when it is immediately removed form the new page, or receives downvotes from people who do so just because they can.  As such, i will start including the link to the reddit in the video descriptions so that, if you so choose to, you all will be able to help me spread my viewership by helping out the reddit link.  Again this is totally voluntary, and I do not expect anyone to do it for a multitude of reasons.

5.  Finally, some of my upcoming projects.  To go along with the first item on this list, I am going to be adding some new games to my channel.  I am a World of Warcraft player and intend to start recording dungeon runs and raids, especially when they are done with guild members so that Ventrillo chat could be used to add into the festivities.  I will talk more on this when I actually get is started.  I also intend to do Terarria with a good friend of mine.  We are going to record our escapades and I will be posting them for fun.  I do not expect much form this, but from our experiences in the past and being that this is someone I interact with on a regular basis face to face, it will make for a lot more laughs than usual.

That is really all I have to say for this one, and I am sure most of this will come up in the next video I record, which should be up shortly after this blog goes up.  Clearly I still need to actually record it and render it, but that will be forth coming.  Have a good one!

With Break Over, It Begins

OK so my Spring Break is officially over.  It was fun, great chance to recharge my batteries and play some video games.  Now that I am back it is time to get my butt into gear.  I actually completed a new Minecraft video, which can be found here.  I am back in the game baby, and it feels good.

Facebook Page is LIVE!! But We Need a Picture!

Alright, the Facebook page for the blog is officially up.  Now I can start spreading the word about my blossoming little project here.

But, there is something I need.  I need to get a decent profile picture up.  Considering I am not the most creative person, nor do I have the greatest Photoshop skills, I would like to see some user submission!  Email your submissions to cwacchaos@gmail.com.  They will be posted to the FB page and one will be selected by popular vote to become the main page picture!

Damn I Can Be Lazy

I had a huge post planned about why I agree and disagree with a few things TotalBiscuit said in his recent video detailing how he thought Bioware went too far.  While I agree with pretty much everything he said, I just disagree with the though of DLC in general.  It is really starting to piss me off in general.  But the point is I got too lazy to write it, let it go for several days, and now I just don't want to write it.  *Sigh*

Today I Realized...

Today i realized that I tried to start this blog three times now and never actually got it going.  Well I'm sick of trying.  Time to start doing.  I will not update every day.  I don't have time for that, and things to happen enough for that to be the case.  What I will do is post when I have something to talk about.  Like if I played a sweet game, or watched an awesome movie (or shitty games and movies too because those will be fun posts to read), or even just had a nice night out with my wonderful girlfriend that I just had to talk more about.  Either way, this should start populating now...

Reaction to Alyssa Bereznak's Little Episode

As some of you may know, recently a tech blogger named Alyssa Bereznak blogged about having a date with a guy who happens to be the champion of the CCG Magic: The Gathering, Jon Finkel.  If you do not know anything about this, stop reading now, and read this: My Brief OkCupid Affair With a World Champion Magic: The Gathering Player.  Then return here when you are done.

Ok so first I want to make some things clear.  1.  Online dating has its up and its downs.  When you make a profile, you run the risk of having some pretty weird ass people talking to you (weird depending on your own standards of course).  That being said, it is also the internet.  Dating site or not, you can still shape your own personality to be what you want it to be.  I can tell you that I am a Mexican body builder from France who loves to play love songs on a guitar and long walks on the beach.  Yes, I understand that it isn't exactly believable, and that it is an extreme, but still it illustrates my point.  So, online dating you take that risk. 2. I briefly had a Match.com page.  I started out with a very vague profile, only allowing a little bit of my major personal life available because most people that I am attracted to do not exactly like the same things I do.  For example, I am a big time gamer.  When I have nothing better to do, I am not opposed to sitting down for 7 hours and playing a game because to me, playing a game is like watching a movie, only I control the movie. Many girls do not find that in any way attractive, so to put "I am a gamer" into my profile was basically a way to suicide my profile.  And I was right.  After I spoke to a few girls on there, and then started to let them know more about me, they just straight up stopped talking to me.  At this point I was extremely annoyed, and said fuck it, everything is going up there.  Easy way to filter out people who will act that way.  "What does this have to do with anything?" you may ask.  Well, in her blog, Bereznak mentions that he never mentioned that on his page, and she thinks it is a big deal that she didn't know this to begin with.  Tough shit, he didn't mention it because he would like to get at least 1 date out of girls.  Hell it isn't that big a deal.

So Bereznak basically gets all up in arms about Finkel being a Magic champion.  My question is: Why is it a big deal?  Yes, I totally agree that it is nerdy to play Magic.  But, with the way that our society is evolving, everyone does some pretty nerdy shit.  Hell I would go as far as to say writing a blog is nerdy.  And I have no room to talk because as I said, I am a gamer, and I like to paint and play miniature war games.  But so what? Just because we do nerdy things doesn't make us shitty people.  Every girl I have ever dated, and this is no lie, has actually been asked 'How can you stay with him?  He's so nerdy and he's an ass." (I am very aggressive and love to poke fun at everyone, which always makes me look like as ass and people don't like me on first impression.)  They always respond that it is different, that I am such a "sweetheart" and a "good boyfriend" and that if they got to know me, I'm not really not a bad guy at all.  And its true.  I may not be nice to everyone when you first meet me, and I am a hella nerd, but when you get to know me, I'm a good guy.  So maybe Finkel's a good guy, too?  Hell, she will never know now after the stunt she pulled, but seriously, what gives?

The worst part about this whole thing is the fact that in her post she really rips on him for being a nerd and a dweeb and all this other shit just for playing a CCG.  Have whatever opinions you want to have.  If you want to harbor a dislike for nerdy people, fine by me.  But what gives you the right to go home, shell up on your computer, and start tearing him apart and bashing him for playing a damn card game?  There could be much worse things he does in his free time.

All in all, all I have to say is I am a bit annoyed by what she did.  It was unnecessary, and completely unwarranted.  But hey, that's just my opinion.

I Have Returned!!

And so after many days of not being here, I have returned to the blog, in order to put down my thoughts, dreams, and experiences, as well as anything else I can think of.  Game reviews, screen shots (shitty ones at that, as I do not have a capture card for xbox games), pictures of miniatures, the incredibly random ass dreams that I have, tactics, battle reports, really anything.  Of course, I don't have one for today, since I am just now returning, and I don't have anyone watching this either, but lets hope that it changes soon :)
